DRC established an operational presence in Colombia in 2011 with a focus on Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) and providing support to the conflict-affected population in the south of the country. With the onset of large mixed migration flows to Colombia due to the Venezuelan crisis, DRC began an integrated humanitarian response in 2018 to meet the urgent needs of refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, Colombian returnees, and host communities in some of the areas most vulnerable in Colombia, such as the Caribbean coastal areas (Riohacha and Barranquilla). urban centers (Bogotá and Cundinamarca), and Caquetá. In 2021, DRC opened field offices on the South Pacific coast in the department of Nariño and the northern zone of Colombia in Norte de Santander.

Objective of the position:

Support the economic recovery team with the follow-up and previous management necessary for cash deliveries to the beneficiaries of the DRC Economic Recovery programs, under the technical supervision of the Economic Recovery Specialists.

It will carry out complementary operational activities in favor of the efficient and professional performance of the activities in the field and office of the DRC Economic Recovery programs, in coordination with the National Office team.

Responsibilities:

Implementation of economic recovery programs.

  • Consolidate the information of the new beneficiaries of the Monetary Transfer Programs on a monthly basis to manage the dispersion of their first payment.
  • Consolidate the information of the beneficiaries of the Livelihood Programs that require the receipt of cash transfers within the framework of the Entrepreneurship and employability components, and follow-up on their developments.
  • Follow up on news related to the payments of active beneficiaries within the Monetary Transfer Programs.
  • Participate in the implementation of specific activities of the Cash, Entrepreneurship and Employability components, contributing to the highest quality interventions.
  • Implement the work plans and technical indications from the different areas of the Organization.
  • Support the management, accompaniment and monitoring of the participants of the Economic Recovery programs.
  • Support the preparation of reports and proposals.
  • Other related activities that are necessary for the success of the program.

Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in humanitarian protection, social work, human rights or other similar field work, related to an NGO or other non-profit organization.
  • Field experience and work with urban and/or rural communities.
  • Experience and ability to interview people of all ages and backgrounds, addressing cases of high emotional impact.
  • Advanced knowledge of the office package (mainly Excel)
  • Experience in managing databases.
  • Will and ability to learn.
  • High capacity for self-management and time management.
  • High professional ethics.

Desirable

  • Knowledge and/or experience in Economic Recovery programs.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Calm and diplomatic character.
  • Ability to create a good team environment.

Education:

  • Relevant university degree (eg political science, economics, international development, social work, psychology, human rights) or equivalent professional qualification.
