PIM Specialist in Bamako: The Danish Refugee Council is an international non-governmental organization that promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems of refugees and displaced people around the world. Since 2008 in West Africa, DRC has been developing assistance programs for populations affected by conflicts in the areas of food security, economic recovery, water and sanitation, protection, emergency and social cohesion. As part of these programmatic activities, DRC has been present in Mali since 2013 and has a national office in Bamako and offices in the regions of Mali strongly affected by the crisis: Mopti, Gao and Ségou.
THE POST
The main objective of the Protection Information Management Specialist position is to develop the tools, collect, monitor and analyze information and data related to protection programs to offer qualitative analyzes related to behavior change, beneficiary profiles and any other analysis. allowing the project and teams to improve their interventions.
The specific objectives are as follows:
- Develop data collection and analysis tools adapted to the objectives of the interventions,
- Support teams in the analysis of qualitative data related to risks (vulnerabilities, threats and capacities), changes (behaviours, strengths and position of actors),
- Analyze the data collected and send these analyzes to the teams on a regular basis,
- Organize the presentation of data in support of advocacy and produce information documents/studies for different target audiences.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop data collection and analysis tools adapted to the objectives of the interventions.
- Develop suitable tools for the collection, storage, and analysis of protection data, in accordance with the standards and principles of protection information management (PIM) and DRC internal directives,
- Design and maintain database systems for data management and analysis purposes,
- Support the MEAL Department in developing qualitative and quantitative tools for measuring the impact of protection projects, particularly involving programs where populations are mobile and difficult to access.
Analyze the data collected and send these analyzes to the teams on a regular basis
- Ensure the sharing of verified information, in time, with the teams in order to allow them to adapt their interventions as needed,
- Strengthen data processing and analysis mechanisms at the field level.
Support teams in the analysis of qualitative data related to risks (vulnerabilities, threats and capacities), changes (behaviours, strengths and position of actors).
- Use tools for collecting and analyzing data related to behavioral changes,
- Ensure the adequacy of the methods allowing access to groups at risk who are mobile, have few possibilities of speaking or voluntarily avoid contact,
- Support field teams in their understanding of tools and data,
- Develop action-research systems in protection projects.
- Organize the presentation of data in support of advocacy and produce information documents / studies for different target audiences.
- Ensure the collection, analysis and presentation of verified information in order to support structured advocacy, information or institutional positioning campaigns,
- Develop summary notes and presentation documents of the analyses, hypotheses and actions based on the data collected.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Training: (including certificates, permits, etc.)
- Graduate diploma (Bac +3) in a relevant discipline (development, monitoring and evaluation, political science, humanitarian assistance, etc.) or equivalence in professional experience
- Proven skills in presentation and data processing tools
Experience:
- Experience of at least 3 years in a similar position or 5 years in a research/academic office.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Method, autonomy and rigor in the work
- Strong capacity for coordination and human management.
- Ability to set priorities
- Experience in the field with an international organization (desirable) SKILLS :
- Good command of information management and presentation tools
- Excellent ability to analyze and popularize data.
- Experience in developing tools for collecting and monitoring information
- Mastery of IT tools (Office, Adobe, statistical and infographic tools)
Languages: (indicate level of proficiency)
- French (essential, bilingual fluency)
- English (desirable, spoken and written)
- Bambara (essential) and/or other languages spoken in Mali.
